WALK YOUR TALK

Then said Jesus to the crowds and to his disciples, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat (Mt. 23:1-2).

So practice and observe whatever they tell you, 
but not what they do; 
for they preach, but do not practice. 
Matthew 23:3.

They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues, and salutations in the market places, and being called rabbi by men (Mt 23:4-7).

But you are not to be called rabbi, 
for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren.

A Model Preacher

We were gentle among you, like a nurse taking care of her children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us. For you remember our labor and toil, brethren; we worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you, while we preached to you the gospel of God (1 Thes 2:7-9).

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers (1 Thes 2:13).
